We’ve been teasing this for weeks through social media, and if you look back through our old unboxing videos you’ll find mentions, and hints, but now it’s finally here: RELEASE DAY!
Exobot 1 First Contact – is a Disc Cellar exclusive design produced by DoubleRam Disc on Innova discs. This is the first release in what we expect to be a series of designs. This first release is available in 4 models:
- Limited Edition – Innova Star Aviar3, all discs are numbered, bagged with header that includes artist signature, First Contact story and disc number (38 produced)
- First Release – Innova Star Shryke (20 produced)
- First Release – Innova Champion RocX3 (20 produced)
- First Release – Innova XT Nova (25 produced)
These stamped beautifully and will work equally well as collectors or throwers.
When it first appeared, there was awe and wonder. It stood amongst us, unmoving, cold, and silent. This way it remained for most of a generation. When the mute sentinel abruptly began to make it’s presence known, the world’s revelry at not being alone in the Universe came to an abrupt and terrifying end.
Why are we calling this a “First Release”, because we reserve the right to re-print the stamp in the future, subsequent releases will be Second Release or Second Editions. There may be future limited editions (they would be different and distinguished from these ones). The goal here is to have a beautiful stamp, to have it be collectable, to tell a story, launch a series, but also to be able to reproduce the early works in the future so that those who miss out, or find the Exobot later will have an opportunity to own the entire collection, they just may be mass market models instead of these first editions.
95% of the pre-orders have shipped. The website has been updated with what’s still in stock. Here’s some pictures of the discs that came in.
The Glow JK Aviars feel amazing…
We’re proud to have been a part of a number of new courses over the years, but this is the farthest East we’ve ventured so far. Congratulations to Sam Meggs and the community of The Pas on embracing Disc Golf.
Like so many Disc Golf projects this one wouldn’t have been possible without a motivated and dedicated local volunteer putting in countless hours. It also wouldn’t have been possible without sponsors and grants. In particular The Pas Community Renewal Corporation (TPCRC) was instrumental in making this new course install possible. Let’s spread the love and take a moment to let them know that their contribution and generosity is appreciated by the Disc Golf Community everywhere!
So give them a like on Facebook, or send them a note, or an email. Here’s some pictures of what they made possible:
As the go to dealer for many Disc Golfers across Canada, we field a lot of questions. One of the most common is: can you get _______. Now sometimes these are impossible asks, where someone is looking for an out of production disc, or something ridiculously specific (but sometimes we are able to pull those off too). Other times, they are just looking for a current production model that we don’t currently have in stock.
As we alluded to in our moving announcement, we’ll be doing some significant restocking post-move. This talk of restocking often brings out more of these special requests, which is especially fun when we’re able to accommodate them.
So here’s the question: are you looking for something specific from Innova?
If yes, we might already have it in stock; we also have a small amount of inventory that is physically here but not in our inventory system at present (never ending task). But failing that, we can order in lots of stuff. In the interest of transparency, what you’re about to see is the order form that us Dealers use. So you’ll see what’s currently in stock from Innova (at least at the time the spreadsheet was last updated), and the granularity with which we are able to order it. The spreadsheet doesn’t include any pricing or anything like that. But if it’s on the form, we can order it for you. Let us know if there’s something you’d like us to bring in for you. I’m not sure how disruptive the post-move unpacking is going to be, so I’m guessing this order will be submitted the week of June 4th, which usually means that stuff will arrive the following week (sometimes there’s a bit more of a delay between order and shipping).
Here’s the spreadsheet: Innova Dealer order sheet 2016-05-19 let us know if there’s something you want us to bring in for you!
The Innova order with all the beautiful custom discs for Provincials will be shipping out on Tuesday or Wednesday this week. Which means that any requests that get to me by 9pm today (Monday) can probably be accommodated just in time for Provincials.
Of course, what you want might already be in stock, so you should check out the on-line store for a full listing of our current Innova disc inventory.
The Disc Cellar along with Michael Ramanauskas have teamed up with Provincials this year to bring you a commemorative disc in some of the most sought after molds from Innova!
They are available for pre-order now through The Disc Cellar’s online store! There are 8 different discs to choose from, with at least 20 of each being available. The discs have been ordered, but will be arriving just in time for Provincials, so these are pre-order. In the store, there are two FREE SHIPPING options, one is in store pick-up, the other is delivery at Provincials. If you pre-order you guarantee that a disc will be put aside for you.
Because we don’t physically have the discs yet, you get to pre-order with the same granularity as we get to use on the custom order form, so we cannot at this time guarantee exact weights or colours.
Assuming that we don’t sell out during the pre-order phase, discs will be available for purchase at Provincials, and if there are any left, through The Disc Cellar until inventory is gone.
Your disc choices are:
- DX Roc
- R-Pro XD
- XT Colt
- Champion Metal Flake Gator (Flat Topped)
- Champion Metal Flake Tern
- I-Dye Champion TeeBird
- Coloured Glow Champion Tern
- Coloured Glow Champion Thunderbird
With the exception of the DX Roc and the XT Colt, none of the above discs are available as regular stock production models from Innova, and are only available custom stamped for events. So stock up while you can!
Here’s some mock-ups of what the stamp might look like on the disc (note: this are mock-ups of the actual design superimposed on a picture of an actual Innova disc [Champ Thunderbird] and will differ from the final product).
We’re quickly pulling some details together, and it looks like this is all going to work (there’s still a chance it falls apart, but it’s small). So here’s what the current plan is (subject to change), everyone will get a mini to help you remember the event (I know it’s small, but small is better than nothing, and it’s sponsorship and not coming out of your payouts).
Then, there will be some custom stamped discs available for sale at the event, and possibly pre-order as well. Artwork is being generated by the lovely and talented Michael Ramanauskas of the LDGC and washline.com.
We’ll be partnering with Innova for the custom stamping on this, so that means you have a short window where you can make your preferences known for what you’d like to see us order…
So if you see something you really want to throw, or collect, let us know. Personally I’m leaning towards Champ Metal Flake Gators, Champ Metal Flake Terns, R-Pro XDs, Colour Glow Champion Boss and maybe some Yeti’s. But I’m open to suggestions.
If you were listening at one of the player’s meetings you know that there was a mix-up which meant that the player’s package items were not here in time for the tournament. The silver lining there is that it meant that you got to pick your size and colour instead of having a random assortment of shirts to pick from.
Here’s the sizes and colours that I have on record. I’ll be submitting the list on Wednesday night, so if you want to make a correction, or don’t have yours listed please comment on this post before Wednesday evening.

The shirts are coming from Dynamic Discs, so if you have any requests for their products I can bring those in at the same time.
My next Prodigy order will be arriving in early/mid-April with an order deadline near the end of March for special requests. What follows is written by Prodigy:
Refine your line with the new H3
Produced in our 750 and 400G plastics, the H3 is a stable to slightly over stable hybrid disc with a little less stability and more glide than the H2.
The H3 features a small micro bead that enables a pure flight line eliminating pitching from left to right. The flight characteristics of the H3 are extremely predictable. Like the H1 and H2, the H3 will not be for the faint-at-heart. Soon to be favored by advanced and pro players.
Release Date: March 16, 2015
Premium Plastics in Lightweights are Here
Seven of our top models are being released in a variety of lighter weights. Starting at 140 grams, the following discs will be available in our 400G premium plastic.

Towels Back in Stock
With all that snow melting, players are going to need a lot of towels!
These Microfibre towels have the Prodigy Disc logo. They are super lightweight and extra absorbent. These towels are 12″ x 24″ (30 cm x 60 cm)
Prodigy towels are some of my most requested towels, but have been out of stock from the manufacturer for 6 months. I’ll get some in the April order, but if you want a bunch, or specific colours you should let me know.
