We’ve got two Trilogy Challenges coming up, this Saturday in Chilliwack, and Oct 14th at Mary’s Farm. They are two very different events, but here’s something things you should know:
Registration is still open, and will be until the Thursday before the event, at which point online registration closes, if the event(s) aren’t full day of registration will be available (but there is a $5 surcharge for day of registration)
Chilliwack, we’ll be playing 18 holes of golf as our competitive round to determine the division winners. There will an optional additional 9 afterwards, possibly as a doubles round. Online registration is: $35; day of: $40. Start: 10:30am.
Mary’s Farm, we’ll be playing 2 rounds of golf ~ 36 holes to determine winners (divisions may be offered, depending on registration numbers and diversity). $10 from your entry free goes to support Mary’s Farm. Online registration is: $40; day of: $45. Start: 9:30am.
We’ve ordered players packages already for the events, when we ordered Dynamic was completely out of medium shirts, so anyone who ordered a medium shirt as part of their player’s package will get a different size. Other shirts were in stock, but have already been ordered, so all sizes may not still be available. Shirts will be distributed based on registration order, so the earlier you register the more likely you are to get the right size.
Player’s package is 3 discs, a mini, pencil, scorecard and tee shirt
Grand prize is a DyeMax Champion disc
Additional prizes are a mini recruit basket, a micro recruit basket, and $100 plus in additional prizes
Free delivery of additional items purchased through The Disc Cellar at the event if purchased by the Thursday prior to the event.
Registration lists are being manually maintained, but are currently accurate at 25 and 15 people respectively. Hope to see you there.
Good news, bad news. The MVP Circuit Challenge originally planned for tomorrow has been pushed back two weeks to the 23rd. The discs aren’t here.
So that’s the bad news, the good news is that the big prize this year will be a MVP Black Hole Pro basket. We’ll be playing 18-24 holes at Quilchena (depending on basket conditions), and there’s an $5 optional “Macro Challenge” using a Macro Tesla, MVP’s entry into the large mini category.
We’re a little over half full for the Squamish Open tomorrow, you can still register online tonight until 6pm, and then you can register on location tomorrow morning as well (there’s an extra $5 charge for that).
Draft course map is:
Amateur and Junior pads may be added.
Reminder this is the second lower mainland event in the Left Coast Cup and the third overall.
Final results are posted on the PDGA web site: Roctoberfest presented by Innova. If you were a participant please double check to make sure that your PDGA number (if you have one) is not missing. Also please verify that your total score is in fact accurate.
Congratulations goes first and foremost to all participants for braving the scary forecast to play in totally reasonable conditions. Thank you to Innova for sponsoring the event and the great player’s packages! Also thank you to The Disc Cellar for organizing the event and the Left Coast Cup series.
We’re still a go for today, but we’re not full. So day of registration is available. Keep in mind day of registration costs $5 more than the on-line pre-registration.
We’ve also been advised that the Township may close the park, at this point it is not closed, so we are moving ahead normally. However if the park is closed, the event will be halted or cancelled. Based on the forecast we’re optimistic that we’ll be able to avoid all of that, but it is a possibility.
So long as the Township does not close the park, we will be playing. We may alter the course to accommodate the conditions.
If you are registering this morning, you will be able to do so between 9-9:30am, with the player’s meeting at 9:30 and the first round starting at 10am.
It’s official, Roctoberfest presented by Innova at Passive Park is a PDGA C-Tier event, so you’ll earn a player’s rating, and PDGA points in addition to the Left Coast Cup series and club points that you’ll earn. Amateurs will get a $65 player’s package.
Pre-registration closes tonight at midnight, if we’re not full, day of registration will be allowed (but costs $5 more).
Player’s meeting at 9:30am, first round at 10am. We should be done by about 5pm.
There’s still room for the Trilogy Challenge tomorrow at Mundy Park, you can continue to register on-line until midnight tonight. Or you can register in person tomorrow (costs an extra $5). It’s a rain or shine event, hope to see you there!
There's also still room for Roctoberfest next weekend, which has an even bigger player's package (less discs, more stuff).
We previously announced the Fraser Valley Championships 2016 presented by Innova, and the event is still happening but we changed the name, so the event will be called Roctoberfest presented by Innova. If anyone cares about the name change you can have a refund. The event should be a PDGA C-Tier (sanctioning pending).
Why the change? The Fraser Valley Disc Golf Club wanted to be involved in an event that contained the geographic identifier “Fraser Valley”, and given the timeline their involvement was not possible for this event. Our intention is to work with them to bring you the Fraser Valley Championships sometime in 2017.
Don’t forget that all amateurs get a killer Innova player’s package worth $65 and which will include a premium Innova disc (spoiler alert it’s either going to be the Mystere or the Savant, but we don’t know which).
This is the first event in the Left Coast Cup series.
